| The i2 Acquisition: Is JDA Becoming the Biggest Pure Play or Consolidator in Supply Chain Technology? |

With recent news that it intends to acquire i2 Technologies, JDA Software just became the largest independent vendor of supply chain software in the industry. The company accomplished this at bargain basement rates too, buying i2 for $346M, a premium of 12% over of the current share price. The price paid is 1.3 times the 12-month trailing revenue, a low multiple in the current market. With its 10 acquisitions in 10 years, strong financials, and the vision to be the preeminent provider of supply chain software, JDA looks primed to succeed with this new purchase—but not so fast. The acquisition may work out just fine for investors, but i2 users want to know if JDA is committed to investing in their futures. |
