Corporate Sourcing Policy

Research Sourcing and Distribution Policy

AMR Research’s clients value our objectivity and integrity. AMR Research’s publications, conference materials, presentations, audio, video, trademark, logo, decision support and advice, as well as any other reports, written documentation, or information (collectively, the “Materials”) are proprietary to AMR Research and subject to protections afforded by copyright laws and other intellectual property laws. To ensure that our research and advice is used objectively and in the proper context, AMR Research sets the following guidelines for all uses of AMR Research’s Materials.

1. General Principles

1.1 Distribution

a. Clients may not redistribute Materials (or excerpts from Materials) internally within the client’s company unless the client’s contract with AMR Research explicitly affords the client this right. All redistribution and excerpts must be clearly marked, “AMR Research, Inc. copyrighted materials; for internal use only.” Please refer to your AMR Research contract for information on which business units or divisions of your company have the right to receive AMR Research Materials.

b. All external use of AMR Research Materials requires written approval from AMR Research’s Public Relations Department. Approval is only granted through AMR Research’s Public Relations Department.

1.2 Quoting Material

a. Quotes may only be taken from written, published Materials.

b. Quotes must be used verbatim with no words omitted or changed. Quotes may not be used out of context from the original work.

c. Quotes cannot exceed six (6) sentences in length. Larger excerpts may be taken with purchase of distribution rights.

d. Quotes must be sourced appropriately to AMR Research by title, author, and date.

 “Customer relationship management is poised to add significant value to the market,” said Jane Jones in the March 20XX AMR Research Report, “Customer Relationship Management Adds Value.” “Within two years, a majority of companies will use CRM.”

1.3 Obtaining Approval

a. Requests for approval should be submitted by emailing AMR Research’s Public Relations Department. AMR Research uses its best efforts to review all requests, which are submitted with all required documentation, within 48 hours.

b. All requests must be submitted via e-mail and shall include:

* The quote
* The complete context of the quote as an attachment (press release, brochure, etc.)
* The research source of the quote as an attachment
* The name of the requesting company

c. Contact information for approvals is in Section 5.1.

1.4 Custom Quotes

AMR Research does not provide custom quotes or testimonials of any kind.

1.5 Duration of Use

Use of AMR Research’s Materials is generally limited to one (1) year from publication date or research conducted within the last year.

1.6 Translations

AMR Research does not allow clients to transcribe research into other languages.  For an additional fee, AMR Research will transcribe research into another language (for pricing details, please see section 4 below).

1.7 Other Terms

All use of Materials must be in accordance with AMR Research’s Ethics Policy. AMR Research reserves the right to withdraw future permissions if these guidelines are not followed. AMR Research may seek additional recourse under contract, copyright, and other applicable law. AMR Research reserves the right and sole discretion to reject any request. AMR Research reserves the right to change these rules at any time without notice. The AMR Research Materials may not be used to endorse any individual company or service, or to disparage a company’s competitor. Clients may not use Material in any way that indicates or implies a sponsorship or other relationship between AMR Research and the company.

2. Usage Guidelines Based on AMR Research Material

2.1 Articles

a. Clients may post the verbatim text of one (1) AMR Research Article at a time on their website for a period of six (6) months or one (1) year, provided that they have purchased the digital distribution rights to that Article. Articles must be sourced by title, author, date, and must include the AMR Research logo and a link to www.amrresearch.com

b. Clients may purchase PDF files and/or distribution rights of AMR Research Articles, subject to the Distribution Fees.

c. Articles may not be modified in any way.

2.2 Reports

a. Clients may not post an HTML version of a report to their website.

b. Clients may post a PDF of a report to their website for a period of six (6) months or one (1) year, provided that they have purchased the digital distribution rights to that report.

c. Reports may not be modified in any way.

2.3 Vendor Profiles

a. Clients may purchase the right to distribute a Vendor Profile (unmodified excerpt from a Report) for a period of six (6) months or one (1) year, subject to the Distribution Fees.

b. Vendor Profiles may not be modified in any way.

2.4 Quantitative Reports and Special Projects

a. Clients may not distribute quantitative reports, in any manner whatsoever, which includes, but is not limited to, AMR Research Market Analytix (MAX) Reports.

b. Clients may not quote or distribute Materials provided by AMR Research that is based on special projects.

c. In general, only materials from custom research that depict general market trends will be approved for external use. Under no circumstances will AMR Research approve use of custom research material that mentions specific companies or products for external use.

2.5 Graphics, Tables, and/or Charts

a. Overall Market Trends
Clients may reprint graphics, tables, and charts from copyrighted Materials that depict overall market trends free of charge.

b. General Graphic Reprint Guidelines

i. All graphs, tables, and charts must be sourced to AMR Research by title, author, and date, and the client must receive written permission from AMR Research’s Public Relations Department.

ii. Company names may not be removed from these graphics. Graphic proportions cannot be manipulated or distorted in any way.

2.6 AMR Research Name and Logo

AMR Research’s name and logo are registered trademarks and cannot be used in any manner without the prior written consent of AMR Research’s Public Relations Department.

2.7 Analyst Presentations

An analyst’s presentation may not be distributed to conference attendees unless agreed to in event contract. The presentation or other analyst materials may not be distributed to conference attendees or any other person unless expressly permitted by AMR Research in the event contract. In accordance with Section 1.2, no quotes can be taken from an analyst’s presentation for use in marketing or other collateral.

2.8 Audio and Video Recordings of Analysts

a. Please see guidelines in Section 3.3.

2.9 Other Materials

Generally, no other copyrighted Materials can be reproduced. This applies to, but is not limited to, interviews, photographs, webcasts, books, conference materials, and signage.

3. Special Usage Guidelines Based on Client Collateral

3.1 Press Releases

a. The AMR Research name may not be used in the title or sub-head of a client’s press release. In addition, the “About AMR Research” boilerplate is reserved for corporate AMR Research press releases only, and should not appear in client press releases.

3.2 Promoting AMR Research Participation in an Event

a. All promotional items that mention the AMR Research name or logo must be sent to AMR Research’s Public Relations Department for written approval prior to release.

b. Promotional materials may only feature the AMR Research analyst participating. Portraying AMR Research as a co-host, sponsor, or any language that depicts AMR Research as jointly affiliated with an event is strictly prohibited.

c. The AMR Research logo may only appear next to the analyst name, and should not be placed next to the logos of the event hosts. Any use of the AMR Research logo must be pre-approved by AMR Research’s Public Relations Department.

d. AMR Research does not promote events for clients.

3.3 Videotaping and Audio Taping

a. Clients may purchase the rights to create a video or audio file featuring AMR Research analyst commentary, provided that it is contracted prior to such recording.

b. If the recording is an interview of an analyst, all questions must be submitted to AMR Research for approval at least 10 days prior to the taping. All questions must be about general market trends. Any questions about a specific company’s products or services will be rejected.

c. Commentary depicting general market trends will be approved; any commentary endorsing a company or speaking specifically about a company’s product is strictly prohibited and will be rejected without refund.

d. Clients must provide a courtesy copy of the video/audio and a transcription of the audio to AMR Research for approval before it can be used in any manner.

e. All distribution of recordings of AMR Research analysts, including interviews, podcasts, product videos, webcasts, and conference recordings, must be agreed to and contracted before such recording. Distribution requires approval. Please see the fee schedule in Section 4.7.

4. DISTRIBUTION FEES OF COPYRIGHTED MATERIALS

4.1 Submitting a Request for Distribution or Reprints

Requests for distribution rights and reprints can be submitted by calling AMR Research’s Sales Department at (617) 542-6600 or by e-mailing reprints@amrresearch.com. Reprints are only available to clients of AMR Research.

4.2 Transcription and Translation

Price varies. Please contact AMR Research’s Sales Department at (617) 542-6600 or by e-mailing reprints@amrresearch.com for more information.

4.3 Purchasing a Digital File/Distribution Rights of Written Research

Unlimited distribution for one (1) year includes the right to post the file on a website or intranet in accordance with AMR Research’s Sourcing and Distribution Policy. Please note that no more than (2) two PDFs of AMR Research’s copyrighted Materials may be posted on a website or intranet at any one time. Electronic copies of AMR Research material may not be altered.

4.4 Hardcopy Reprints of AMR Research content

Exact reprints of AMR Research reports can be purchased upon request. All content will appear as is, with no changes made. For pricing and availability, please contact reprints@amrresearch.com.

4.5 AMR Research Books

The below fees are for copies from the AMR Research book series. The buyer is responsible for the shipping cost, which will be included in the order. Clients may contact their account managers to order books. Non-clients should e-mail bookreprints@amrresearch.com.

4.6 Audio and/or Video Distribution
